Challenge #2 - Helpers and Hurters
Posted 4/1/08 7:12 am
Welcome tribes to your second challenge. As you can see, Candice was voted out of Ki-Moon at the last Security Council. Now it's time for your next challenge.
In your last treeMail, you were asked to sign-up for positions - helper or hurter. These are the results of that.
Helpers: John K. & Ozzy, Alicia & Kathy, Tina & Tom, Jaime & Silas
Hurters: Danni & James, Hunter & Sundra, Rudy & Stacy, Aras & Steph
Sit-outs: Michelle, Bobby Jon, Jonny Fairplay
Now take a good look at each other... I'm sure you're wondering why your tribal reps have been paired. Well, now I'm going to explain how this challenge works.
The way you are going to win this challenge is by having the other pairs either vote or not vote for your tribe. So in effect, YOU decide who goes to Security Council this round.
The Helpers and Hurters have their own separate boards. This is one of the few times in the game where you are ENCOURAGED to talk with the members of the other tribes. HOWEVER, you must only post on that board. Any deals or discussion you make will be public. No private messaging allowed. Warnings will be given if you do that.
What you are trying to do is convince the other three pairs that your tribe either deserves or does not deserve their vote. As a pair, you will cast either a +1 vote (Helpers) or -1 vote (Hurters). You must agree on this vote. If you fail to come to a conclusion in the allotted time, you incur a -1 penalty to your tribe regardless of whether you were a Helper or Hurter. Submit this vote through a PM to me. Both members must PM me the same tribe name.
To make this clear...
Imagine that two pairs of helpers vote for me and one pair of hurters decide to hurt me. That means I have +2 points, but also a -1 point. That ends up being +1 point for me.
The tribe with the lowest number of points in the end will go to the Security Council. In the event of a tie, of the two tied tribes, the tribe that had the most helpers help them will be saved. If there is still a tie, we check hurters. If there is still a tie, time of submission is into effect.
I will be generous and give you 60 hours (2 1/2 days) to work on this challenge. However, if all the submissions are in early, there will be early results.
Good luck and ask if you have questions.
(I'm posting this slightly early as an experiment with the times and stuff.)
